Corporate Information Security
In most of my
discussions, webinars, and business-to-business forums with
small-business owners looking to expand their corporation their seems
to be a common thread of questions regarding expansion and security.
Corporations and small businesses alike run into a heap of issues
with "off-center" goals for managing their expansion while
preserving their network security systems. For example, let's say we
have Company A and
Company B. Both
companies would like to expand into a new market. Both have
thoroughly planned and believe their expansions have gone very
well. However, the security of Company A's
network has degraded during the course of their
move into a new location. Company A
is facing everything from a region which has experienced several natural disasters in recent years and a not-so-secure server
room in their new location. Meanwhile, Company B
is in similar predicament. However, with lightning quick thinking and a lean IT
and Project management department they manage to utilize the
tools of one company.
What would I recommend? Not a hard choice. I'd recommend a server and company with a reliable reputation in the industry. A company that is a cut above the rest in monitoring it's bottom line. The customer. The client.
